Sade Baderinwa ( Full name: Folasade Olayinka Baderinwa) is an American broadcast journalist ( anchor and reporter). She currently works as a news anchor at WABC-TV, the ABC flagship station based in New York. Sade became part of the channels news team in 2003. Currently, Sade co-anchors the channel’s weekday at 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts of Eyewitness News along with Bill Ritter.

Later, Sade went to serve as a reporter trainee at the CBS affiliate, WUSA-TV based in Washington, D.C., prior to becoming a reporter at the NBC affiliate, WSLS-TV based in Roanoke, Virginia.

She joined the NBC affiliate, WBAL-TV, based in Baltimore, in February 2000. While there, Sade anchored both morning and noon newscasts. She as well hosted a weekly community affairs show. In 2003, Sade left the station and joined WABC-TV as their reporter and anchor for the noon newscast prior to joining Diana Williams as co-anchor of the 5 p.m. newscast.

On October 27, 2006, Sade appeared on The View as a guest co-host. She became co-anchor of the 11 p.m. newscast in May 2011 with Bill Ritter, where she took over from Liz Cho. Liz left the anchor’s position and became the station’s new 4 p.m newscast, which was launched after The Oprah Winfrey Show ended. Additionally, Sade has been serving as a regular moderator at the celebration of International Women’s Day of the United Nations.

On December 2, 2016, Sada posted on her Twitter account Thank you Shorty. I work out with weights 3 days a week and Pilates two days. In September 16, 2015, she posted a photo of a gym and wrote This is what I did for my dinner break…Pilates. The last time I did it was about a year and a half ago. So nice to get back into the groove of it again. I’m now permanently adding Pilates to my weekly workout regimen.  From her posts, it’s clear that Sade has a personal gym where she does her workouts.

While preparing a report about local flooding on the evening of July 23, 2004, in a location outside of 257 Hudson Street in Hackensack, New Jersey, Sade was struck by a hit and run driver. the driver went through police lines and was rendered unconscious following the collision. Following multiple surgeries and months of physical therapy, Sade returned on-air on December 13, 2004. However, she continued receiving physical therapy five times a week after her return to the station. Nonetheless, the driver in the collision was never caught.

At the scene, Sada was the passenger and not the one mowed down in the street. A few days after the incident, she began a downward spiral and couldn’t get out of bed,  her head felt as if it was going to explode, and migraines attacked and grew more and more intense. The pain was unrelenting and all she could do was sleep.
