He currently co-anchors KGO-TV ( ABC7 affiliate) News weekdays at 4 p.m. Also, Larry covers sports for ABC7 News weekdays at 6 p.m. as well as 11 p.m. He has been working for KGO-TV ( ABC affiliate) since January 2001. Additionally, Larry is a sports columnist for Yahoo. He now hosts a Yahoo! webcast called SportStream with the former Seattle Seahawk Joe Nash.

Before joining KGO-TV, Larry served as a host of a SportsCenter. He worked alongside Robin Roberts, Keith Olbermann, and Dan Patrick at ESPN. At a fairly young age, it became clear that his dreams of playing point guard in the NBA or tailback in the NFL were a longshot. So, Larry decided the next best thing would be talking about sports. He started his journalism career at the University of Hawaii. There, Larry worked on the student newspaper and also on the campus radio station. Through his years in the islands, Larry covered everything from erupting volcanoes to sumo wrestling, he as well covered the play-by-play of his beloved UH Warriors.

Later, Larry moved to Northern California. He was in time to experience the 1989 earthquake. He was actually driving through the Caldecott Tunnel when the quake occurred. After 5 1/2 years working at KTVU, Larry left the channel and joined ESPN. He worked for a period of 6 years while hosting SportsCenter alongside Robin Roberts, Keith Olbermann, and Dan Patrick. In 2001, Larry returned to the Bay Area to work for ABC7 News.

From 1996 to 1998, Larry served as an anchor on SportsCenter, the flagship program of ESPN. Larry introduced a new catchphrase after showing a home run: “Aloha means goodbye.” Also, he made an appearance in a This is SportsCenter ad. Larry’s introduction was made by ring announcer Michael Buffer. Michael made the introduction as if he was about to compete in a boxing match. After leaving ESPN, Larry began working as the sports director at KGO-TV in San Francisco.
