In 2014, Neil harshly condemned Linden MacIntyre, a retired CBC employee, following MacIntyre made comments about the CBC concerning the Jian Ghomeshi incident. In 2015, Neil went back to Canada following 17 years in the United States, 12 of which he worked in Washington, D.C. as the Washington Bureau correspondent at The National. Neil proceeds to produce editorial articles for the CBC’s website and appears as a senior correspondent for The National.
