Melinda Mayo is an American anchor and reporter. She currently serves as the co-host of “Daybreak” as well as “Good Morning Arkansas” for KATV ( ABC-affiliated) based in Little Rock, Arkansas, United States. Melinda has been with the channel since February of 1996. Melinda went on to study communications at Ouachita Baptist University located in Arkadelphia after winning the Trinity Foundation Scholarship from Pine Bluff High School. She is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist by the Department of Geosciences.
In 1990, Melinda received the Associated Press “Spot News Reporting” award after her report on the floods that ravaged downtown Hot Springs. The same report earned Melinda a first-place award in a six-state regional competition. The award was presented to her by the Radio/Television News Directors Association. During her free time, Melinda enjoys spending time with her lovely husband, Mark, and her stepson called Derek. She also uses some of her spare time to play the piano, golf, and also do boating on Arkansas lakes.
