Kris Van Cleave is an American anchor and reporter. He currently serves as a congressional correspondent for CBS News in Washington, DC. Kris started his broadcasting career by serving as the producer of KTLA-TV/Tribune’s nationally syndicated “CyberGuy Report.”All through, Kris has earned nine regional Edward R. Murrow Awards and 12 regional Emmy Awards.

He also took part in ABC7’s team of reporters who won the 2010 and 2014 National Edward R. Murrow Awards for their breaking news coverage. Additionally, he twice won the Emmy Award for the D.C. region’s best general assignment reporter in both 2007 and 2010. In 2010 and 2011, Kris was named as the”Best Reporter” by the Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters Association.

The D.C. Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, The Colorado Associated Press, the San Diego Press Club, the William Randolph Hearst Foundation, and the University of Southern California have all recognized Kris’ work.  In 2011, he was selected as a RIAS Berlin Commission Fellow. As a result, kris traveled to Pakistan in 2013 as an East-West Center Fellow.
