Apart from anchoring the 5 p.m., 6, 10 as well as the Edge at 11 p.m., Huel also hosted the popular talk show called “Let It Rip!” The show aired at 10:30 every Thursday night.

Huel and Monica said their official goodbyes with the 6 p.m. newscast.

Fellow anchors Roop Raj and Amy Lange paid tribute to them in a pair of retrospective segments during the broadcast. Huel and Monica started as a team in 1997 and announced their decision to retire together on February 23, 2022. Monica said “To have the privilege of working with the same team, in the same city with loyal viewers like you for 25 years is extraordinary, and for that, we are so grateful,”
