She was born and raised in Conyers, Georgia by her parents Opal Marguerite and Charles Edwin Hunter. Hunter’s mother served as a housewife while her father was a farmer and sporting-goods manufacturer’s representative. During her childhood, she suffered from mumps which makes her unable to hear with her left ear sometimes leading to complications at work.
