Emmanuel Acho ( Full Name: Emmanuel Chinedum Acho) is a popular American sports analyst for Fox Sports 1. He is also the co-host of Speak for Yourself. Previously, he was a professional football player who played as a linebacker in the NFL. Emmanuel played college football for the Texas Longhorns before being selected by the Cleveland Browns in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL draft.
In 2013, he was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles, where he played until his retirement from the sport in 2015. Besides his broadcasting responsibilities, Emmanuel created and hosted an anti-racism digital series Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man.
He released a book with the same title, and a second book, ‘Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Boy,’ of which both became New York Times bestselling books. He has also authored a 3rd book, with Noa Tishby called Uncomfortable Conversations with a Jew.

Emmanuel was born in Dallas, Texas, to his parents Dr. Sonny and Christie Acho who are from Isuikwuato, Nigeria. He is Nigerian American. Emmanuel has three siblings including a brother Sam Acho. His family has been involved in African missionary work since he was young.
Emmanuel’s parents are on the board of directors of the Living Hope Christian Ministries and Operation Hope, which offers medical services in Nigeria. His father has also worked as pastor of the Living Hope Bible Fellowship Church and worked in North Dallas as a mental health professional.

While a football player, Emmanuel played as a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL draft. The Philadelphia Eagles also signed him off the Giants’ practice squad on October 21, 2013. Emmanuel was waived by the Eagles on December 17, 2013, before the season ended, but signed to the practice squad the following day.
In 2015, following being waived as part of the cuts to 53 because of a thumb injury, he was signed back to the Philadelphia Eagles on November 9 following Jordan Hicks was placed on Injured Reserve with a shoulder injury, but he saw no playing time and was released on November 24, 2015, making him a free agent. Later on, this transaction marked the end of Emmanuel’s NFL career.
