While in high school at Trimble Tech High School, Dionne began noticing an articulate media personality who delivered the news with remarkable poise named Clarice Tinsley. Up until now, Clarice Tinsley is a multi-award-winning news anchor who serves as Dionne’s motivation and a major inspiration.
During her days at Fort Worth’s Trimble Tech High School, Dionne dabbled in some journalism and photography, she went on to study Radio/Television/Film at the University of North Texas in Denton. While in college, the brutal honesty of her professors equipped Dionne with the initial confidence required to persevere in an industry where quite often, there are many doors never opened.
Her professors always emphasized how difficult it would be to break into this industry and how slim the chances were to be an on-air personality. Dionne realized that she needed to have some pretty tough skin and determination to be successful. Being filled with passion for journalism while still a young girl, Dionne had been fulfilling her dream of storytelling for a remarkable two decades. After completing college internships with two Dallas TV stations, she went on to become a professional journalist.
Dionne has chased hurricanes and politicians, apart from that, she has covered crime and corruption such as the 1st anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing, the historic recall election of California governor Gray Davis, New Orleans’ world-famous Mardi Gras celebration, as well as Hurricane Andrew. Her most enjoyment and excitement throughout her career journey have come since she returned home. Dionne went back home to the metroplex in 2005 to serve as a reporter for FOX 4. Currently, she can be seen reporting nightly on the early evening newscasts.
