Christiane Amanpour ( Christiane Maria Heideh Amanpour CBE) is a British-Iranian tv host and journalist. Currently, Christiane serves as the Chief International Anchor for CNN. She as well serves as the host of CNN International’s nightly interview program. Apart from that, Christiane is the host of Amanpour & Company on PBS.
After she was done with the larger part of her primary school education back in Iran, Christiane was sent to boarding school in England by her parents at the age of 11 years. She joined an all-girls school in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire called Holy Cross Convent. At the age of 16, she joined a Roman Catholic school in Chelmsford, Essex called New Hall School. After the Islamic Revolution began, Christiane and her family went back to England. However, Christiane stressed that they were never forced to leave the country.
They were actually going back to England due to the Iran–Iraq War. Her family ultimately remained in England after finding it difficult to go back to Iran. Christiane went to the United States after leaving New Hall. She wanted to study journalism at the University of Rhode Island. While at the university, Christiane worked in the news department at WBRU-FM based in Providence, Rhode Island. She as well worked for NBC affiliate WJAR based in Providence, Rhode Island. There, her role was to serve as the station’s electronic graphics designer.

From the departure of Charlie Rose from PBS, until the new show premiered, her coverage aired on PBS stations, as Amanpour on PBS.
Since 2020, Christiane has been doing the PBS daily program from her home in England as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
