Randy Blythe ( Full Name: David Randall Blythe) is a popular American vocalist, well known for being the lead singer and lyricist of heavy metal band Lamb of God and Burn The Priest. He is also the lead singer of the side-project band Halo of Locusts.

Randy became a member of Lamb of God in 1995 when they were still recognized as Burn the Priest. Prior to the band’s success, he had formerly served as a cook and a roofer. Randy also has a side project band recognized as Halo of Locusts, who were created around 2004.

It was announced on November 20, 2014, that he was to show up in an action movie being made by Taiwanese metal band Chthonic. On July 14, 2015, his debut book, Dark Days: A Memoir was published by Da Capo Press. During its debut week of sales, the book became the Publishers Weekly non-fiction National Best Sellers list.

Early Life And Education

Randy was born in Richmond, VA, to his parents. His father was in the Air Force.  Randy’s parents divorced when he was young. When he was in the fourth grade he moved to Virginia with his dad and brothers and they lived for a few years on a farm with their grandmother. Randy’s dad worked a lot though, so together with his grandmother he had to raise his young brothers. His grandmother died on August 5, 2021, aged 100 years old. Randy is of the Christian religion. After completing his primary and high school education, he never finished college.

Jail

On June 29, 2012, Randy was arrested, formally charged under section 146(4) of the Czech Criminal Code, and later remanded in custody. He faced 5 to 10 years of being jailed if found guilty. As per the prosecution, Randy pushed Daniel Nosek, a 19-year-old fan, off stage, thus creating serious wounds to him. Following being discharged on bail, which was contested by the State Attorney, Randy denied of being responsible for Daniel’s death and pledged to come back to attend the trial, which started on February 4, 2013.

Lamb Of God

In 1995, Randy became a member of the band Lamb of God.
