Charisse Gibson is an American anchor and reporter. She currently works as an Evening News Anchor at WWL-TV (CBS Affiliate) based in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. Charisse does her reporting with great passion and dedication and has been doing exceptionally well in her career which has been her dream job since she was a little girl. She launched her career in journalism after her graduation in 2010.
Since then, Charisse has been covering stories that matter to her community and has been actively working hard to ensure that she delivers the best to her viewers. Along the way, Charisse has collected some awards for her excellence in reporting. Some of those awards include Edward R. Murrow Award presented by Radio Television Digital News Association in May 2021.

While working in the newsroom, Charisse wrote for the WWL morning show and this encouraged her to pursue a full-time producer position at WLOX-TV along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. After a period of two years on the Gulf Coast, she returned to her home state and became the Morning News Anchor at KSLA News 12 This Morning based in Shreveport, La.
While working in Shreveport, Charisse profiled some of the ArkLaTex’s forgotten faces such as Shreveport’s first African-American police officer as well as the woman pegged to be the next Clementine Hunter. As a result, she earned the Susan G Komen Volunteer of the Year trendsetter award. Also, Charisse served on the advisory board for the Renzi Education and Art Center.

After spending some years in Shreveport, Charisse went to Cincinnati, Ohio where she worked as an anchor and co-host of the FOX 19 NOW Morning Xtra. Additionally, Charisse served as the host and executive producer of public affairs show called “Cincinnati Connection.” The show explores social and also community issues locally, state-wide, as well as nationally.
While working for FOX 19 NOW, Charisse was lucky to be nominated for an Emmy due to the documentary she prepared on the Freedom Riders and their connection to the Greater Cincinnati area.
