He anchored WGRZ-TV, Buffalo, New York, Co-Anchor KFSN-TV, Fresno, California, and Co-Anchor WKBW-TV, Buffalo. In July 1995, Don won First Place in Investigative Reporting by New York State Broadcasters Association.
He also holds numerous Associated Press as well as United Press International awards. Additionally, Don was honored with the Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Journalism after co-anchoring WIVB’s coverage of the crash of Continental Flight 3407.
