Ben Dery is an American Meteolorogist. He currently serves as a weather forecaster at KARE-TV ( an NBC-affiliated tv station) based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. Ben joined the KARE weather team in July 2020. Before his current station, Ben worked as a weather forecaster at a KARE sister station KING-5 based in Seattle. Ben fell in love with his job because it’s ever-changing and he gets to talk about his passion. Ben is always in awe of a big thunderstorm.
His favorite vacation sport is Fishing crappies on the Canadian side of Rainy Late. The biggest fish that Ben ever caught was approximately 48.5 muskie. When he is not chasing the weather for his next weather updates, Ben is always busy watching his favorite movies such as Interstellar, Moneyball, as well as Shawshank Redemption. All through his career journey, ben’s favorite story he got to work on was the opening day at one of the biggest ski resorts located in Washington. Ben got to be the first to ski down.

Ben realized that he was going to be a weatherman at a very early age.
His curiosity about the weather drew his interest in pursuing a meteorological course at the University. Up to date, Ben has been saving a family photo standing outside his parental home during a hail storm with an ice cream bowl on his back. The photo reminds him of her early days on his way to becoming an Eagle Scout when he received a temperature badge. Ben holds a Seal of Approval as a licensed Meteorologist from CBN. During his free time, Ben enjoys fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, and traveling.
