Brian Gotter is an American Meteorologist. He currently works as a meteorologist at the TMJ4 channel ( NBC-affiliated). Brian has been serving as the weather forecaster since late 2006. He won an Emmy award for his appearance on the morning show. Also, Brian was a substitute at the popular “CBS Early Show” where he held a position as a meteorologist. Additionally, he won two more Emmy as the best meteorologist in the Midwest.
The American Meteorological Society awarded Brian with the prestigious status of “Certified Broadcast Meteorologist.” Before joining TODAY’S TMJ4, Brian worked for four years at WCCO based in Minneapolis. There, Brian was assigned the role of hosting the channel’s morning show. The people were great to him despite being a diehard Packer fan.
While working in Minneapolis, Brian won an Emmy award for his morning show. He even went to New York to become a fill-in meteorologist on the “CBS Early Show.” Since going to Milwaukee, Brian has won two Emmy awards for “Best Meteorologist in the Midwest” in both 2009 and 2010.

He joined TMJ4 Storm Team 4 in October 2006 as their midday and early evening meteorologist. Brian landed his first job at KSWO in Lawton, Oklahoma during his senior year in college. After graduating from University, he moved back home to Wisconsin where he began working for WAOW in Wausau. After only a year, Brian was offered a great job at WJXT based in Jacksonville, Florida. During his five-year working in Jacksonville, he reported on numerous severe weather, tropical storms, and hurricanes, such as the two weeks of Hurricane Floyd in 1999.
Some of his hobbies include watching, chasing, and photographing the weather. Brian also likes basketball, golf, bowling, biking, and travel. Brian is very happy to be working at TMJ4 and in Milwaukee. He spent a lot of time in Milwaukee and watching TMJ4 while growing up. It’s home to him. Brian loves Summerfest, the Bucks, as well as the Brewers, and he was at the last games in County Stadium and still remembers crying as he watched John Tudor beat the Brewers in Game 7 of the 1982 World Series.
