She had a recurring role in the musical drama tv series Star as Danielle Jackson from 2016 to 2017. In addition, Burke also performed in season six of the reality series Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta as herself in 2016.

Valarie Pettiford is an American dancer, jazz singer, stage and tv actress.  The actress is best known for her role on the UPN television sitcom Half & Half where she appeared as “Big Dee Dee” Thorne. For her role in the Broadway production Fosse, Pettiford won a Tony Award nomination. At the age of 17  in 1978, Pettiford enrolled at the High School of Performing Arts, she then did her first-ever movie work; part of the large ensemble in the film titled The Wiz.
