He ventured into the gymnastics career while at the age of 10 years. Additionally, he also participated in NCAA Division I gymnastics while at the Collegiate level at UCLA. In 1984, he assisted his team to win a gold medal during the Los Angeles Olympics.
During the Olympics, Tim scored a perfect 10 on the high bar hence making his teammates; Los Angeles Olympics, Mitch Gaylord, and Bart Conner to be the first men’s gymnastics team in the Olympic history in the USA.
