Sheba Turk is an American anchor and reporter. She currently anchor and reports for the Eyewitness Morning News on WWL-TV (the local CBS affiliate) in New Orleans. Sheba never imagined that she could have had a chance to be a reporter at WWL-TV that early in her career. It’s still a bit surreal to work for the show that defines mornings for so many viewers in New Orleans. Sheba spent her free time working on news stories while working in traffic.
During the hit of Hurricane Isaac in 2012, she offered to help with storm coverage. Sheba was promoted to the morning show reporter position not long after, she began doing live shots for the channel’s morning news. She was also given a chance to host “The 504.” It was not easy to get the chance because the show was brand new and didn’t really have an identity yet. Sheba really got to execute her vision.

After graduating from high school, Sheba spent the first half of her college career studying creative writing at NYU. However, she came back home for financial reasons. Because of a scholarship from Soledad O’Brien’s Starfish Foundation, Sheba managed to graduate from the University of New Orleans where she earned her bachelor’s degree in English, creative writing, and journalism.
Sheba was led to the world of journalism by her love of writing. Just a few months after graduation, she became part of WWL-TV in September 2011 where she began by serving as an associate producer for the morning news. Sheba spent her extra time while shadowing reporters. She then jumped at the opportunity when the traffic reporter position came open. Sheba worked in a position in front of the camera. A year later, opportunity knocked on her door again. She became an anchor for a spot on the morning show.
Sheba was promoted to be one of the co-anchors for the morning show. Working and setting aside Mike, Eric, and Sally feel so special to Sheba. She remembers watching them in the morning before going to school when she was in college. Sheba would never have imagined that she would be sitting with them only a few years later. The team has all been extremely supportive of her career, and Sheba has learned a lot from all of them.
