Scott Swan is an American anchor and reporter. He currently works at Channel 13/ WTHR ( NBC-affiliated). There, Scott anchors the 5:00 pm, 6:00 pm, and 11:00 pm newscasts. Swan started working for WTHR in 2002. In 2018, he was honored with the year’s National Sigma Delta Chi award by the Society of Professional Journalists for his “WTHR Storytellers” which included Scott’s “Miracle of the Mind” story concerning an Indiana man who discovered a hidden artistic talent after suffering a brain injury.

In 2017, Scott nearly lost his life after a terrifying health scare. Hours after broadcasting the news, he suffered internal bleeding that caused him to lose 50% of his blood. According to the doctors, Scott would not have survived if the bleeding continued during the ambulance ride. A team of well-experienced doctors was able to stabilize him and set him on the course for treatment. Scott spent nearly a week in the hospital as he recovered and concentrated on regaining his health. After leaving the hospital, Scott shared his inspirational story with churches all over central Indiana.

In 2021, an annual mammogram brought dreaded news to Scott’s wife Janae Swan. she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Scott documented his wife’s journey as she battled breast cancer. The year was shaping up to be a great year for Scott’s family. His daughter was pregnant with her first child while his son’s wife was pregnant with twins. But their lives changed on January 20th, 2021 when his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. May 17, 2021, was the happiest day of Janae’s Journey. After four months of hearing a cancer diagnosis, Janae underwent her final radiation treatment.
