Rory Scovel Biography

Rory Scovel is a popular American comedian, actor, and writer who in 2011 released his debut stand-up comedy album called Dilation. Since then, he has released many stand-up specials including Third Man Record in 2013. Besides, Rory is an actor who started his career as part of the main cast on the sitcom Ground Floor from 2013–2015. He also co-hosts The Pen Pals Podcast.

Moreover, Rory co-appeared in the romantic comedy movie I Feel Pretty (2018), and also starred in and wrote for the comedy series The Eric Andre Show from 2012 to 2016. During the 2020s, Rory created and appeared in his Comedy Central series Robbie in 2020 and appeared in the Apple TV+ series Physical from 2021–2023. In 2011, he performed on Conan alongside comedian Jon Dore.

He was born in Greenville, South Carolina, to his parents. Rory has six siblings, Natalie Salisbury, Lauren Scovel, Jacqueline Turbervill, Chaz Scovel, Jessica Scovel, and Jordan Scovel. His father Donald B. “Donnie” Scovel died on June 26, 2020, aged 65. Donald worked at the U.S. Postal Service for 41 years. Rory’s paternal grandparents were Connard and Joyce Bruce Scovel.

Furthermore, he studied at St. Mary’s Catholic School, later at Christ Church Episcopal School, from kindergarten to eighth grade. In 1999 Rory graduated from Greenville Senior High School. He spent one year studying at the Campus of Central Florida before joining the Campus of South Carolina Upstate, from which he earned a communications degree in 2003.
