Randy Beamer is an American former journalist, photographer, artist, videographer, and host. He currently serves as a host at KLRN – PBS in San Antonio. KLRN bringing PBS programming and outreach to south central Texas on-air (Channel 9.1), online, and in your social feed. Before he became a host at KLRN, Randy was an anchor at WOAI.

There, he anchored weekday news at 5, 6, 6:30, and 10 pm. He retired from journalism on March 5, 2021. Randy read his final news script on Friday 5. As a sophomore, Randy started serving as a reporter-photographer and voice of the late-night “sign-off” news at KCCI-TV ( CBS affiliate ). Randy landed a full-time job at  WHO-TV ( NBC affiliate) while still a senior. He worked in Iowa immediately after his graduation from Drake University. However, Randy left lowa to work at KENS-TV in San Antonio. While there, he continued to shoot, write, and edit his own reports.

Also, Randy became an anchor for the station.  He then left KENS-TV to join KUSA-TV in Denver where he continued working as a reporter/photographer.  Then, Randy went back to San Antonio and joined News 4 WOAI. Randy announced his retirement in March 2021 after over three decades at News 4 and more than four decades in the news business.
