Matt was suspended for a month by ABC News in January 2020 for incorrectly covering that, during the demise of Kobe Bryant in the 2020 Calabasas helicopter crash, all four of Kobe’s kids had died when only Kobe’s 13-year-old daughter Gianna “Gigi” was on board the helicopter and perished in the crash.
