On one of her regular Saturday morning excursions On July 23, 2016, with her dog called Minnie, Martha ran into a man she knew not by name but by his dog in the Union Square Farmers’ Market in Manhattan. The man (Stephen, as she eventually discovered was his name ) knowing that she had and loved bull terriers wanted to put her in touch with his friend called Carol who was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Martha would be the perfect person to adopt Carol’s beloved bull called Terrier Harry when the time came. Thus, Martha started a saga of dog dates and human friendship. After six months, she adopted Harry, Minnie, and Harry. As a result, Martha and Carol bonded and when Carol died, Martha was at her bedside.
