John David Roberts commonly known as John Roberts is a Canadian-American journalist currently working as the Chief White House Correspondent for Fox News Channel (FNC). Prior to joining Fox News Channel in January 2011, John worked for CNN from 2006 as an anchor and Senior National Correspondent. Before becoming the Chief White House Correspondent, Roberts was the Senior National Correspondent for Fox News Channel based in Atlanta bureau.
Roberts was born in Toronto, Ontario, and grew up in Mississauga, Ontario where he attended Erindale Secondary School. He later joined Lorne Park Secondary School completing his secondary education. Roberts attended the University of Toronto in his hometown Mississauga.

Roberts joined Fox News Channel (FNC) in January 2011 as a Senior National Correspondent based in the Atlanta bureau. He is currently working as the Chief White House Correspondent for FNC. Roberts reported live from Hanoi, Vietnam covering the U.S summit with North Korea on FNC. He contributed to FNC’s special live coverage surrounding President Trump’s trip to Europe in 2018, including stops in Brussels, Belgium for the NATO Summit: the UK for visits with Prime Minister Theresa May and Queen Elizabeth II; and Helsinki, Finland for his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Roberts also anchored live coverage of the United States and North Korea summit that took place in Singapore. While still working at FNC, John has provided live coverage during several breaking news and political events including the 2012 and 2016 presidential debates, Democratic and Republican National Conventions. He held various interviews behind-the-scene with then-Republican presidential candidates, Donald Trump, Carly Florina, Marco Rubio, and other party members.
Prior to joining FNC, Roberts served CNN’s American Morning from 2007 to 2010 as a co-anchor. He served as CNN’s Senior National Correspondent and anchor for a program known as This Week at War, examining international wars including those in Afghanistan. Roberts has traveled internationally throughout his career to report on major developing news, including Yugoslavia during the NATO bombing, the earthquakes in Turkey, and the London bombings of July 2005.
Before Roberts joined CNN in 2006, he worked for more than 14 years at CBS News, where he was the chief White House Correspondent, chief medical correspondent, and also anchor of the weekend editions of the CBS Evening News and CBS Morning News. He anchored the CBS Evening News coverage of Hurricane Katrina and the death of Pope John Paul II.
