Jimmy Webb is an American songwriter, composer, and singer. He has written numerous platinum-selling songs, such as “Up, Up and Away”,  “Wichita Lineman”, “By the Time I Get to Phoenix”, “Galveston”, and “All I Know”, “Worst That Could Happen”, and “MacArthur Park”.

Jimmy has had successful collaborations with Michael Feinstein, Glen Campbell, Linda Ronstadt, Art Garfunkel, the 5th Dimension, and Richard Harris. He was introduced to the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1986 and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1990. Jimmy earned the National Academy of Songwriters Lifetime Achievement Award in 1993.

In 2003, he received the Songwriters Hall of Fame Johnny Mercer Award, and the ASCAP “Voice of Music” Award in 2006. In addition, Jimmy also earned the Ivor Novello Special International Award in 2012. He is the only artist ever to have received Grammy Awards for music, lyrics, and orchestration.

He was born and raised in Elk City, Oklahoma by his father Robert Lee, and his mother. Jimmy’s father was a Baptist minister and alumnus of the United States Marine Corps. Jimmy was raised in a conservative religious home where his father restricted radio listening to country music and white gospel. Unfortunately, his mother died in 1965.
