Jeh Johnson (Full name: Jeh Charles Johnson, pronounced as ‘Jay’) is an American lawyer and former United States Secretary of Homeland Security. He served under President Obama from 2013 to 2017 as the fourth Secretary of Homeland Security. During the inauguration of President Donald Trump on January 20, 2017, Johnson was the designated survivor.

From 2009 to 2012, he was the General Counsel of the Department of Defense during the first term of the Obama Administration. Most recently, Johnson is a partner at the law firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison. He also makes regular appearances on MSNBC, NBC, ABC, FOX, CNN, CBS, and PBS as a commentator on national and homeland security matters.
