Eddie Glaude is an American academic who is the chair of the Department of African-American Studies as well as the James S. McDonnell Distinguished University Professor of African-American Studies at Princeton University. He is also a well-known author of the book entitled “Begin Again” which was published on April 1, 2020.
Glaude began his teaching career at Bowdoin College where he worked as chair of the Department of Religion. He has received several awards including the Carl A. Fields Award. Glaude was a Visiting Scholar in African-American Studies at Harvard University as well as Amherst College. He won the Modern Language Association’s William Sanders Scarborough Book Prize for his first book entitled “Exodus! Religion, Race, and Nation in Early 19th Century Black America”.
He has appeared on The Travis Smiley Show, CNN, FOX News’ Hannity & Colmes Show, MSNBC, and C-Span. Alongside Cornel West and Michael Eric Dyson, Glaude has also appeared in the documentary, Stand, which is produced and directed by Tavis Smiley. Glaude conveyed the Founder’s Day Convocation keynote address in 2007, during the 140th anniversary of Morehouse College.
