Colin Allred (Colin Zachary Allred) is an American Politician, former professional football player, and civil rights attorney. He is a member of the Democratic Party and is currently working as the U.S Representative from Texas’s 32nd Congressional District.

He is a former professional football player who played the National Football League (NFL) for the Tennessee Titans. Allred left football to do a degree in law. He later got a position in the U.S Attorney’s office and the Obama administration.

During the May 22 runoff election, he conquered Lilliana Salerno, a Lewisville businesswoman earning 65.5% of the votes. He came across long-time incumbent Sessions for the 32nd District seat.

In the November 2016 election, this was considered an Electrol district since Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton acquired slightly more votes than Donald Trump even as Sessions was reelected with no major-party opposition. Allred was elected to the United States House of Representatives for the 32nd district of texas on November 6, 2018. His success was considered distress since Session had been in Congress since 1997 and had also represented the 32nd District of Texas since 2003, and was the first Democrat.

Sessions had represented the nearby 5th District and moved to the 32nd. In February 2019, Allred endorsed his former boss and fellow Texan in February 2019, former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro, for the Democratic nomination in the 2020 Democratic presidential primaries. After Castro left the race, he endorsed Joe Biden.

Allred attended Baylor University where he played college football as a linebacker for Baylor’s Bears. He was later signed by Tennessee as an undrafted free agent backing the 2006 NFL Draft in May 2006. Allred was renounced on August 29 but was later re-signed on January 26, 2007. He was then waived during final cuts on September 1 and was successively signed to the practice squad on September 2. On December 15, he was promoted to the active roster and was re-signed on February 17, 2010.
