Before that, Deborah served as an anchor on 11 News This Morning for the CBS affiliate KHOU-TV Channel 11. Prior to that, she worked as a co-host of a talk show for Lifetime Tv called “Our Home.”

She was raised in a military family. Deborah spent her early years in Taiwan and Japan because her family constantly moved around. As a result, Deborah attended five different elementary schools. She honed her interviewing skills at each school as she was determined to learn everything about her “new friends.” Deborah completed grade school in San Antonio. her father worked there prior to his retirement. After high school, she enrolled at the University of Texas in Austin where she graduated with a degree in Radio-Television-Film.
After working for a couple of years in radio, Deborah switch to tv by becoming a reporter at the CBS station based in Austin. Later, she became an anchor at the ABC station. From there, Deborah moved to Dallas and started to host a talk show called “Good Morning Texas” at KHOU-TV’s sister station WFAA-TV. Eventually, Deborah and her co-host were asked to anchor the morning news.
After anchoring for three years, she moved to New York City and became a co-host of yet another talk show for Lifetime Tv called “Our Home.” Deborah loved New York City but her heart was still in Texas. After some time, ABC executives approached her about doing a talk show for possible national syndication. The network’s management wanted Deborah to do the show out of New York or Los Angeles. Finally, they agreed that it could start in Houston.
After her contract with ABC, Deborah went back to the anchor desk. In December 2002, she became part of the CBS affiliate KHOU-TV Channel 11 as their anchor on 11 News This Morning. Deborah worked there for six years before returning to the talk show format as host of Great Day Houston. Currently, the show is produced locally by KHOU-TV ( a CBS-affiliated tv station) based in Houston, Texas. and airs every weekday at 9:00 a.m. (CDT) on Channel 11.
