On August 17, 2007, Craig was designated for assignment by the Tigers, and on August 23, he was traded with Clay Rapada of the Chicago Cubs. He played for the Chicago Cubs for the remainder of the 2007 season. On November 13, the Chicago Cubs traded Craig to the Minnesota Twins for a player to be named later.
Later on August 1, 2008, the twins designated Craig for assignment and were released on August 8. On January 13, 2009, Craig signed a minor league deal with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was again designated for assignment to make room on the roster for Steve Pearce on June 20, 2009. On July 1, 2009, he was released and officially retired from playing basketball.
