Chris Berman (full name Christopher James Berman) is an American sports journalist working at ESPN, a multinational basic cable sports channel as a host. He joined the ESPN network in October 1979, as a sports anchor. For more than four decades, Chris has become one of America’s most respected, popular, and in many ways, most beloved sportscasters of his era. He is popularly known for his signature delivery of highlights in every sport, most notably on NFL Sundays.
He began his journalism career at WVIT-TV, an NBC-owned-and-operated television station in New Britain, Connecticut. At the station, he worked as a weekend sports anchor. Chris joined ESPN a month after it had been launched. He is one of ESPN’s longest-tenured employees and the only remaining SportsCenter anchor from 1979.
