Cedric Maxwell ( Full name: Cedric Bryan Maxwell) is an American former professional basketball player. He currently serves as a color commentator for Celtics radio broadcasts. Cedric, nicknamed “Cornbread” played 11 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He as well played a key role with the Boston Celtics in two championships.

During his college career, Cedric led the UNC Charlotte 49ers to an NCAA Final Four appearance in 1977. After his college career, Cedric was drafted by the Boston Celtics. He was then elevated to a starting small forward position during the 1978–1979 season after coming off the bench his rookie year. A disappointing 29–53 team on which Cedric was the lone bright spot. Larry Bird joined the Celtics the following year and the team began a resurgence that made theme among the dominant teams of the 1980s.
