Bryon’s father Tom York was an American television personality, who served for WBRC in Birmingham, Alabama, from 1957 until 1989. Tom died on August 1, 2021, aged 96. Byron’s mother Helen died on October 13, 2021. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa and his master’s from the Campus of Chicago.
