Bill Bergey ( Full name: William Earl Bergey ) is an American former football linebacker. Currently, he does pre and post-game radio and tv commentary for the Eagles during the season. During his playing career, Bill professionally played for 12 seasons. He is best known for playing for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL).
In 1969, the Cincinnati Bengals of the American Football League (AFL) drafted Bill, a year prior to the completion of the AFL–NFL merger. Bill played with the Bengals in the NFL until 1973. He subsequently signed with the Eagles in 1974 and he played 7 seasons until he retired from football in 1981. All through his playing career, Bill was a two-time first-team All-Pro and was named to five Pro Bowls. He also made one Super Bowl appearance in Super Bowl XV as his final professional game.
