Her career journey as a reporter began in Rockford, Illinois where she served as a multimedia journalist and anchor. During her time in Rockford, Amanda served as a one-woman band where she wrote, shot, produced, and edited her own stories.
After her stay in Rockford, she joined the CBS affiliate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she worked as a multimedia journalist. While at the CBS affiliate, she covered numerous stories, from the unrest in Milwaukee to officer-involved shootings, and housing and crime issues. At one point in her career journey, Amanda also spent time freelancing as a writer, reporter, and traffic producer in Chicago.
She started expressing interest in writing at an early age when she wrote most of the articles in her school newspaper while in the 5th grade. During her junior year in high school, a reporter from a local station visited her English class and it was at that moment that Amanda decided a career in television was her pursuit.
