John became awarded the AMS seal of approval in 1987.
Afterward, he served as a chief meteorologist at another television station in Jacksonville prior to joining WFTV in Orlando. Since 1992 John has been the main on-air meteorologist as Hurricane Andrew first failed in Florida. John has forecasted just the weather since he joined News4Jax.
