In October 2022, Al was made fully aware of what had transpired and was able to start comprehending it all. He went for a coma for more than 2 months and had multiple surgeries from repairing hematoma, hernia, to having a liver transplant.
Al also has a Chevron scar since the doctor got into his abdominal cavity in order to repair his internal broken parts. When he was hospitalized, the medical professionals were fully prepared to send him to hospice due to the severity of his overall illness. However, Eddie F Ferrell, Rev. Al Sharpton, and Rachel Noerdlinger were firm advocates against hospice.
After waking up from the coma and undergoing several treatments, Al gave his first interview in December 2022 to Fox New York. He also disclosed that he received huge support from industry colleagues and high-profile individuals including vice president Kamala Harris, Halle Berry, and Snoop Dogg. During the interview, Al also disclosed that he was also working on writing a book about his life, producing new music, and creating a podcast.
