Danielle Wiggins Health | Cancer | Illness

In early 2021,  Daniel touched her breast tissue and felt something that was not right. She immediately contacted Cleveland Clinic who then sent her e-mails to schedule a mammogram. Daniele scheduled the appointment for December of the same year. Her mammogram results came back abnormal. The Clinic scheduled a diagnostic mammogram for her which showed the small lump Danielle spotted to be an area of concern. She went two weeks later for a biopsy, and that came back cancerous.

During that moment, Danielle started wondering if it was because of diet or something she had done wrong. However, the breast surgeon told her “sometimes it’s just bad luck.” By then, Danielle was 40 and she had learned that nationally the guideline is 50 years old to get a mammogram. If she would not get a mammogram until she was 50, Danielle would not have made it until she was 50 years old.” She discussed sharing the news with her family. The doctor scheduled surgery for her which went well. The Cleveland Clinic was able to extract the known cancer through surgery. They told Danielle that her cancer was caught in the early stages.
