She served as an editor for Eagle Newspapers while finishing graduate school. Farah reported at the northern suburbs of Syracuse plus Madison County.
Farah contributed to the launch of Syracuse Woman Magazine, the area’s first and only award-winning women’s publication in 2011. She worked as managing editor of SWM for over four years reporting women’s health, education, politics, culture, and business. She also helped launch WCNY’s “Insight” in 2012, a public affairs TV show tackling tough issues across many Upstate New York counties. Prior to leaving this post one year later, as the host and co-producer, she covered the heroin epidemic in many Central New York counties, vacant housing issues plaguing communities, and also the long-running efforts to clean up Onondaga Lake.
