Kassandra Crimi is an American meteorologist. She currently serves as a weather forecaster for WFTV/Channel 9. Kassandra has been part of The Severe Weather Center 9 team since January 2019. Before that, she worked in a station in New Mexico. While Kassandra was in New Mexico, a lot changed. She found a love for Carne Adovada and tamales.She as well got married, got a dog, and gave birth to a baby.

Currently, Kassandra and her family are back, and she couldn’t be happier to call Central Florida and WFTV her home once again. When she is not working in Severe Weather Center 9, Kassandra enjoys spending time with family and friends; wearing purple and gold as she roots on the Vikings; playing basketball, volleyball, as well as other sports. Kassandra has also recently found that she has a love for home renovations. Call her crazy but give her a sledgehammer and a trowel and she is happy.

As a Minnesota native, Kassandra is very familiar with the COLD (also, snow shovels or ice scrapers and ice-fishing) Growing up, she was a science and math junky, and she knew that she would someday work in the science field.

It wasn’t until Kassandra attended the Florida Institute of Technology, based in Melbourne, FL, and experienced the 2004 hurricane season that she realized that she wanted to extend her studies into Meteorology. While attending Florida Tech, Kassandra was an active member as well as a captain of their NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball team. GO PANTHERS! Kassandra also served as an intern at WFTV in Severe Weather Center 9.

It seems as if her internship wasn’t the last time she stepped foot in the WFTV’ss building. Kassandra’s face may look familiar as she worked alongside Tom Terry and Brian Shields at the same channel from 2011 to 2013. January of 2014 took Kassandra and her now-husband, clear across the country up to Albuquerque, NM. A place she likes to call, “The Land of No Humidity.”
