Michael de Adder is a popular Canadian political cartoonist and caricaturist currently working at The Washington Post since March 2021. He also draws and writes editorial cartoons as a freelancer. Before, he worked at The Daily News of Halifax until its shutdown in 2008. In May 2020, Michael won an honorary doctorate from Mount Allison Campus. He is the 2020 beneficiary of the Herblock Award for editorial cartooning. In June 2019, Michael had his freelance deal with the Brunswick News abolished after his drawing of a cartoon condemning U.S. President Donald Trump’s border policies.
