William Galston is an American author and professor. He serves as a writer of the weekly Politics & Ideas column in the Wall Street Journal. William holds the Ezra K. Zilkha Chair in Governance Studies and is a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution where he joined in 2006. Previously, he worked as a policy advisor to President Clinton and presidential candidates.  William is an expert on domestic policy, political campaigns, and elections.
