His mother’s initial thought was maybe his iron levels were low since he is also anemic. However, after giving him some vitamins he did not show any improvements.
Kisua along with her husband and their newborn baby Adam who was then 3 months old took him to UNC Children’s Hospital in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. It was that day that he was diagnosed with leukemia cancer. The family had to move closer to the hospital as Tyler underwent three years of chemotherapy. He went through the phase of his hair falling out which was the hardest part for him. Tyler began being bullied in school but after three years he was through with chemo and thankfully he conquered the fight against cancer.
