Thomas Ricks is an American journalist and author. He specializes in military and national security issues. Thomas is a two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting as part of teams from the Wall Street Journal in 2000 and the Washington Post in 2002.
He has reported on military activities in Somalia, Bosnia, Kosovo, Haiti, Korea, Macedonia, Kuwait, Turkey, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Previously, Thomas wrote a blog for Foreign Policy and is a member of the Center for a New American Security, a defense policy think tank.
He is a member of Harvard University’s Senior Advisory Council on the Project on U.S. Civil-Military Relations and lectures widely to the military.
