She got her start in her broadcasting career at WITN in Washington, NC, serving as a producer and weather anchor. During her time there, Tara covered the fury of Hurricane Floyd one of the worst storms that occurred in North Carolina’s history.
Following going to Charlotte in 2001, she became a Meteorologist at the start-up 24-hour cable news station News 14 Carolina (now Spectrum News), where Tara served for a period of 15 years. While there, Tara involved many hours of live, continuous coverage of everything starting from hurricanes to winter storms. Later on, Tara spent one year in Columbus, Ohio at NBC4 before going back to Charlotte and joining the team at FOX 46.
