Siobhan McGirl is an American anchor and reporter. She currently serves as an NBC Connecticut’s New London County reporter. Siobhan’s passion is meeting new people and being able to share their stories. Before joining NBC Connecticut, Siobhan served as a reporter at WDBJ7 based in Roanoke, Virginia. While there, she had a chance to cover the 2017 deadly Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville as well as the 2019 mass shooting in Virginia Beach.
One of Siobhan’s most memorable moments was in 2017 when she had a chance to cover an EF-3 tornado that swept through Central Virginia. She shared the resilient human experience with her viewers following the recovery process of the communities affected. The Seton Hall University graduate interned with KYW-CBS in Philadelphia, WABC in New York, The CBS Evening News, Nightline, and 20/20. The New Jersey native looks forward to experiencing Connecticut’s state parks and shoreline. Also, she aims at exploring the state’s locally-owned businesses and antique shops.
