He is best known for his 23-year career at Fox News Channel, which he joined at its 1996 inception and served as a chief anchor and managing editor of its breaking news division. Furthermore, Smith covered several programs in his tenure at Fox News, including Fox Report, and Studio B. On October 11th, 2019, Smith announced he resigned from Fox News after 23 years.
