Shamann Walton is an American politician from San Francisco and a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors representing District 10 since 2019. Previously, he served on the San Francisco Board of Education where he was its president immediately before his election as a supervisor.

He ran for election to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in California, to represent District 10 and he won on November 6, 2018, in the general elections. His current term ends in 2022. As a Supervisor, Walton will fight to improve schools, create many jobs in the District, stop gun violence on the streets, escalate access to affordable housing, and mend relationships between all southeastern neighborhoods.

Walton was sworn in on January 8, 2019, after meeting at the Board of Supervisors where he replaced Malia Cohen.

Walton suggested a resolution in February 2020, calling for amends for the City’s African American population. During the nationwide George Floyd Protest in June 2020, he introduced a resolution to forbid the San Francisco Police Department and Sheriff’s Department from recruiting officers with a record of serious misconduct.
