Ron Lieber is an American journalist and author/writer. He currently works for The New York Times as the writer of the “Your Money” column. Ron has won three Gerald Loeb awards for his writing in the column. Before joining NYT, Ron was a writer of the “Green Thumb” column for the Wall Street Journal. Ron wrote the “Green Thumb” managing-your-money column until 2007 when he left the magazine.
Because he expected to continue living in the Chicago area even after he was done with his college, Ron decided to choose a school outside the Midwest, he got a chance to further his studies at Amherst College on scholarships and financial aid. While there, Ron was inspired to try writing for the school alumni magazine called the Student after he read the work of Chris Miller in the publication. During the summer after his junior year, Ron interned with the Daily Hampshire Gazette for a period of three months.
