Rob Stafford is an American journalist and anchor. Currently, he anchors NBC5 WMAQ-TV 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 10 p.m. newscasts with Allison Rosati in Chicago. Rob joined WMAQ-TV in Chicago as a weekend anchor and general assignment reporter on September 23, 2007. In July 2009, he became the main anchor position.

Previously, Rob worked at NBC’s Dateline NBC newsmagazine show as a Chicago-based correspondent for the newsmagazine program for 11 years. In 2006, he was fired from Dateline NBC in a cost-cutting move. While at Dateline, Rob received two national news Emmy awards. Additionally, he also won the Edward R. Murrow award for his Dateline investigation into racial profiling in 2000.
